Even though we’re already well on our way to Halloween 2k10, I’ve gotta post this. I was so mush-brained after last year’s festivities that I forgot to write about how our good bud Justin Ruiz dressed up as the CRAP Indian (formally known as The Original Local). SOOOO EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you don’t remember when we made The Original Local for Insight’s Garage Artists show last year, here’s a pic, and a link to the old post.

WE LOVE YOU JUSTIN!!!

Hang in there Weezy!!
Straight from the minds and souls of the some of the coolest humans we know comes GOD’S PREY’s FW2010 season, PSYCHIK CITIES.

God’s Prey is an extra-trippy, extra-steezy fashion label started by our good friends Sean Reveron and Meghan MacRae of RockersNYC.

“Their third season explores the darker psychology behind God’s Prey, all the while maintaining the distinctive silhouettes and individual perspective that they have become known for. This season, their journey takes us on a ride with the psychedelic gothic caravans.

Following the spectrum of divine clarity, we travel to the Psychik Cities, where we find the darkness that exists in light.” -slamx

Last week I took a trip out to Dubai to visit my brother Stephen. I also met with some shops out there… more on that to come another day.
Dubai. The city where the sunglasses are big…

…and the buildings are even bigger:

They’re building so much so fast, everyone’s always sleeping:

Drinking laws are strict, but they still make really good cocktails…

Haha but seriously, this city is nuts. And living in this wild city is a small group of expats who are keeping it core, i.e. Stephen and his friends:

Here’s Stephen on what he describes as “a 15 ft cement half pipe in some weird arab park”:

They also manage to score some waves out there whenever the Gulf swell gods see fit:

“Firing” in front of the Burj, one of the only 7-star hotels in the world. 2 Gs a night to stay in that bad boy:

Big thanks to Stephen, Sienna, Ali, James, Dan, Pern, Paul and the rest of the crew! If you’re interested more desert shredding, check out my brother’s blog, Arabian Surf Stuff.
