Last night we cruised out to the Whiskey on Sunset to see our buddies Art vs. Science play their first LA show (they’re from Sydney). Absolutely blew the lid off!! Sooo fuckin good!
I guess if you’d have to classify Art vs. Science in one category it’d be Dance Rock… but these dudes have headbanging and medieval-themed whispers like a fantasy metal band, whiteboy rap comedy like the Beastie Boys, synths plugged in through punk guitar amps, tasty guitar licks like ACDC and more energy than Richard Simmons… the end result is a WILD party band, so sick!!

Another band from Sydney also played – Philadelphia Grand Jury. Dan (AvS) used to drum with ‘em too, but had to stop once both bands blew up and started touring.
After about a 5 minute punk meltdown of their last track, the lead singer tossed the guitar that had just been thrown on the ground back to the bassist, left the stage and headed into the crowd to rock a cover of 99 Problems. Amazing.
