GENERIC YOUTH NOW!

Yesterday we visited our good friend and mentor Jeff Yokoyama at his shop/ studio/ community space in Costa Mesa. Jeff was the creative genius behind brands like Maui & Sons, Pirate Surf, Modern Amusement, and currently Pidgin Orange and Generic Youth. If I try and describe GY I won’t do it justice, so go to their website. Jeff recycles unique fabrics and materials to create insanely unique cut & sew garments, all made in-house at GY in super-limited quantities.

Jeff is all about up-and-coming brands and movements, which is why he collaborated with us over a year and half ago. His shop is full of bitchin knick-knacks and gear made by friends and local brands.

We dropped off a full line of our new shades, along with The Original Local at his shop yesterday, so make sure to go by and check it out. You will not be dissappointed – THE GY SHOP IS SO EPIC!!!

Jeff, dropping knowledge.

CRAP!

Radical GY Keith Haring tribute shirt.

Jeff’s been making these hoodies out of old towels for a while now. Most comfortable hoodie I own – mine’s outta a stolen LJ Beach & Tennis club towel – so epic. Every week at GY is Burger Wednesday. Bring an old towel or a five buck donation and you’ve got yourself a killer lunch with some insanely creative heads.

Nick drew this graphic for GY back when we did the collabo. It looks sick on a shirt, and even sicker on a sweatshirt.

Recognize this graphic? We printed a small run of the TEE REX on sweatshirt panels way back when, and they’ve been on ice in the back room at GY. Dropping soon…

Big up to Jeff and the rest of the GY crew! Big things happening down there, CRAP is stoked to be a part of it.
