Although CRAP’s been proving to be quite the full time job lately, Nick and I still manage to work on our own side projects. For example, Nick has an insane handcrafted jewelry line. Scope this bic lighter case that he just carved for himself:

I dig this piece because it provides such a large canvas to showcase Nick’s craftsmanship.

Good friend John Zappas just sent us a pretty solid email. Usually when people give us suggestions about design, or really anything, we kinda have to just sit there and awkwardly white-lie to their face about how it’s a great idea. John’s email on the other hand, fantastic:

A while back, our homies at Frog House in Newport gave us an old display case they had layin around in the back room collecting dust, and said we could crap it out for the shop. So this week Nick buckled down and busted out an amazing masterpiece:

Last Thursday night we cruised to the opening party for David Choe’s new art show at the Lazarides Gallery in Beverly Hills, entitled Nothing To Declare. Super swanky I know… model babes everywhere!!

This was his first show in 6 years… supa dope!!

There was an inflatable Choe whale in the main room that was MASSIVE! Like this jelly bean dude, but too big to snap a good photo.

The 8,000 sq ft gallery used to be a retail front, and the old changing rooms in the back were rad! Taggings on the mirrors, and a badass series of sick watercolor illustrations on display.

I wanted to rip this painting off the wall and run. Definitely my favorite piece.

Even though we’re already well on our way to Halloween 2k10, I’ve gotta post this. I was so mush-brained after last year’s festivities that I forgot to write about how our good bud Justin Ruiz dressed up as the CRAP Indian (formally known as The Original Local). SOOOO EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!
