Our good friend Mike is throwing a killer music festival in Orange County this September, The Pacific Festival. The lineup has yet to be released, but from what little info I’ve been able to coax out of him, this thing’s gonna be wild. He’s partnering with Steve Aoki on the project, and they just released a little teaser video of Steve and Mark the Cobrasnake goofing around. Mark’s wearing some CRAP Beach Partys – Black Fronts, White Sides (which we’ll be restocking in the coming weeks).

Remember when I posted this photo a few months ago?

It seems like yesterday when I was a grom at Windansea looking up to the Dunfee brothers, and although a lot of time has passed since then, they’re still as gnarly as ever! Taylor (right) now lives up in LA shooting photos and making art:

His twin brother Derek is still calling San Diego home, but spends his time chasing swells around the world, charging like a madman (which he documents on his blog). Ever since winning the Billabong XXL Monster Paddle Award in 2009 for an extremely haggard wave he caught at Mavericks, Derek’s finally been getting the credit he deserves. Like this photo on surfline from the 4th of July swell:

“Tube of the swell”?!? So sick! Anyway, there’s a film coming out about Derek, and Taylor was in charge of the art direction, so it’s sure to be an epic one. The premiere is going down next week in La Jolla, so come out and show some support for the humblest hellion around!

Oh shit, 300 posts deep!!! What could be better than a Party Time post?

It’s going down this Saturday at the old Insight warehouse in Culver City, which has been emptied of clothing and filled with art. TJ Panthers + The Franks are going to make you rage your face off with their wild garage surf rock*, while Osamu and the rest of the deejays will coax you back into sexy mode with disco edits from your uncle’s camper van. Come and dig it, and if you find us maybe we’ll give you a tour of the old CRAP HQ.

*TJ Panthers bring it hard – proof here – and I finally saw The Franks play live the other month at The El Rey, also very sickkkk.

GORDON VOIDWELL IN LA

Ok, so I know it’s been a GV blog orgy lately, but check it: this band is the shit! We hosted them in LA last weekend, and they absolutely killed it.

The night before they left town they rocked MFG’s School Night in Hollywood.
